About VG Faux Finishes

Deborah Iwalani Bush is the talent behind VG Faux Finishes. Iwa, originally from the Friendly Isle of Moloka`i, started working as an artist and designer at an early age.

Iwa started her career in commercial art by designing prints for t-shirts and resort wear. She went on to design retail store window displays with Liberty House (now Macy's) for several years, then struck out on her own with The Visual Group, a small design company that worked to help boost sales for many of Hawaii's best-known retail stores and other organizations, including Liberty House, Nevada Bob's, Waialae Country Club, The Wedding Ring Shop and many others.

Iwa expanded her portfolio as a photo stylist for catalogs and mailers with some of our largest retailers and a host of smaller companies.

Iwa is now an independent artist and designer, her talent shaped by mastery of her craft.

I like working with various types of materials to achieve my finishes. I like the movement they have and the way they can work with each other to create depth and interest. I want the viewer to be engaged in the work that I do and to experience the captured beauty of the many colors and textures. Iwa Bush
